The Austrian Philharmonic Series
Launched in 1989 with the Gold Philharmonic, the series expanded in 2008 to include the 1 oz Silver Philharmonic (.999 fine). The design, created by Chief Engraver Thomas Pesendorfer, pays tribute to the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and its home, the Golden Hall of the Musikverein.
The Philharmonic range has since grown to include platinum issues in 2016 and 2018, along with special anniversary editions such as the 1,000 oz Gold Philharmonic (2004) and the 20 oz Gold coin (2009). Today, the Philharmonic remains one of the world’s most popular bullion coins, cherished for both its artistry and its investment-grade silver content.
