The 2008 Silver Lunar Year of the Mouse features a mouse standing on its hind legs, collaborative design. Australian "Year of the Mouse" also called the "Year of the Rat" silver coins were minted in 2007 by the Perth Mint.

The Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the monetary denomination are shown on the obverse.
